Too Much Music, Too Little Time

Have subscribed to napster for about a month now, and I must say…

I LOVE IT!

It’s perfect for someone like me, who:

  • loves to listen to all kinds of music, but don’t know where to start
  • is less advanturous when it comes to CD buying -> I’m cheap!
  • owns too many CDs that has only one or maybe two nice pieces in them

I can also organize my music in a fashion that’s quite similar to that in iTunes. The song selections in their radio station are quite good, too. I’m recently addicted to the Classic Rock station, and have been listening to it for the past 3 days. :D

I’ve tried Yahoo!’s music service for a few days, too, and I unsubscribed it even before my free trial period ended. Yahoo!’s player’s kinda flakey, it throws errors when it’s unable to find a song! and somehow it slows down my computer. So unless I hear that they get better, I probably won’t try Yahoo!’s service again.

I actually see myself buying more albums that I would otherwise been hesitate in buying, and I’ll know that I like them. ;)

The New Civic Hybrid . Hybrid

OK, first of all, I am never a big car fan, and my dream car was VW Cabrio, the ultimate chick car.

Unfortunately, they don’t make Cabrio anymore.

So, when you REALLY need to buy a car, you have no idea what you’re going to get except that you kinda sorta want a hybrid, and your boyfriend is a uber Honda fan who dreams of one day owning everything Honda, include a lawn mower, then you will start to go to (or be dragged to) the preview party of the new Honda Civic.

I think we weren’t supposed to take any pictures (Honda’s been really secretive about the new Civic.) But here you go…

Ooooooooo… not bad, eh?

Katamari Damacy .

Katamari DamacyI don’t play video games that much. Seriously.

But once in awhile I get addicted to some silly little game, like this one Tim showed me.

The idea is quite obsurd, really, that you need to roll up everything on earth and make them into stars in the sky.

These days, whenever I see something, I will start thinking, “How big should my karamari be to roll that up…”

I just finished creating the moon! and I feel the cosmos!
(… and here are some tips. I’m still resisting the temptation of reading about where all the royal gifts are…)

The Practical Uses of CLIE ~ II

Today is the first time I take my clie on the road (i.e. outside of home and office) to see what I can use it for. And I’m not disappointed.

The Practical Uses of Clie #2: Taking notes, pictures, and blogging at a conference I feel totally out of place.

JavaOne Trip Report (the REAL one) ~ I

5:15 am: Alarm went off. Ugh.
5:16 am: LC kneaded and purred.
5:17 am: LC kept kneading and purring, plus rolling on the bed, and on me.
5:19 am: Fine, fine, I’ll get up, even though it’s still dark outside.

*getting ready*

5:58 am: Sigh. Reminded ht to feed LC @ 8. Left home.
(It’s so bright outside already. THAT’s why daylight saving time is useful?)
6:19: Wow, took only 16 minutes to drive to work. Maybe coming to work early is not a bad idea.

*met Claudia of the 12th floor in the elevator. @ 6:20 in the morning*

me: You’re always here this early?
c: Yeah, I have to work 12 hours a day, so I have to come here early so I can go home at normal hours.
me: Wow, good for you. ( -__-||| )

*grabbed badge upstairs*

6:30 am: Headed toward the train station.

*Hum… which track should I go*

me: Excuse me, is this the train to San Francisco?
pedestrian A: … the bullet …
me: The bulllet?!
pedestrian A: (speaking slowly) Are. you. taking. the. baby. bullet?
me: (must mean express train?) Yes.
pedestrian A: Yeah, this is the train.
me: Thank you. (@@”)

6:45 am: On the train, aka the bullet. Train moved. Hum… That guy sitting over there looks awfully like Andy. Without the beard, though. Oops, eye contacts. *smile* *wave* I wonder if he rememers who I am.
6:48 am: Ticket checking. *preparing cash* “Miss, we don’t offer train passes on the train anymore. (!!!) What you can do is to buy passes on your way back to also cover this trip. I’ll trust you on that.” Oh boy, I’m embarrassing myself a lot these days.

(Two people sat down in front of me. Talking loudly about JavaOne and the latest Java technology.)

(Lady next to me is putting mascara on. How do you do that on a moving train?)

The Practical Uses Of CLIÉ® ~ I

Now that you all know I got a CLIÉ® that I don’t know what to use it for, I guess it’s time for me to find out exactly WHAT I’m gonna use it for.

I thought if I play with it long and hard, then maybe I’d be inspired by something. That something happened today. Here’s the result:

LC’s Diary - A Star Is Born

(If the file is not associated with any program automatically, you can try QuickTime)

There you have it, CLIÉ® Usage #1: Taking video clips of me cat.

Testing Testing

K, if this still doesn’t work, I’m gonna give up looking for a way to blog in Chinese from my clie. I’ve tried two most used Chinese systems for palm so far, and have turned on all possible features now that even my palm UI is in Chinese. Here it goes:

NetFront support chinese support
23-12-03 19:49:11 hi Yat,
sorry but support for Chinese is disabled in the current version of NetFront for Series 60 - it will not help if you install it on a Chinese handset. The only thing I can say for the moment is stay tuned for other versions to come.
Tom Why not to support Chiese?
26-12-03 16:52:08 Why not to support Chiese?
